Chris Burgess - Optometrist - grew up in Sydney. He did his formal optometry training at University of NSW graduating in 1979 with Bachelor of Optometry with Honours. In 1982 he sat British General Optical Council Board exams and subsequently gained Optometric registration in the UK and worked there during 1982 and ‘83. On returning to Australia he did post graduate certificates: Drugs in Optometric Practice in 1984 and Ocular therapy in 1993. He established his current practice in 1984 in the CBA centre now called Metcentre. In 2007 the practice relocated to its current position at the base of the Suncorp Building in 32 Jamison Street.
Chris consults broadly in all areas of optometry and is a member of the Australian College of Behavioural Optometrists but his principal interests are the challenges of successful contact lens wear in Sydney CBD and eye disease. He loves the engagement he has with his patients and the opportunity of providing them with thorough eye exams and fashionable, functional eyewear in Sydney CBD.
Michael Peters – Optical Dispenser/Lens Technician – grew up in Sydney. He did his formal training as an optical dispenser with B&B Optical. Michael joined the practice in 1994 bringing with him an extensive knowledge of lens technology. He became a partner in 1997.
Michael has a “good eye” for frame design and understanding current frame fashion trends in eyewear, for the office as well as for social life, in Sydney CBD. He has taken a special interest in new generation “Freeform “ spectacle lens designs, polarized lenses and other lens materials as well as Progressive Addition (multifocal) lenses and prescription sports lens design and fitting.
